FAQs

1. What services do NDIS disability care providers offer? Registered NDIS providers offer a wide range of services tailored to meet the needs of people with disabilities. These services can include personal care, therapeutic support, home modifications, mobility equipment, community participation, and workplace help.

2. How do I know if a provider is NDIS registered? You can verify if a provider is registered with the NDIS by checking the NDIS Provider Finder on the NDIS website or asking the provider for their NDIS registration number.

3. Can I choose any service provider? Yes, NDIS participants have the freedom to choose their service providers. However, if your plan is NDIA-managed, you must select providers who are registered with the NDIS.

4. How are services paid for under the NDIS? Services are paid for using the funding allocated in an NDIS participant's plan. Providers claim payment directly from the NDIS using the participant's plan.

5. What should I do if I'm not happy with my service provider? If you're not satisfied with your service provider, you can discuss your concerns with them directly to seek a resolution. If issues persist, you can contact the NDIS Commission for further assistance or choose a different provider.

6. How can I change my service provider? To change your service provider, inform your current provider of your decision, search for a new provider that meets your needs, and establish a service agreement with them. Ensure there's no overlap in service dates to avoid double billing.

7. Can I access services from a provider not registered with the NDIS? If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you can access services from providers not registered with the NDIS. NDIA-managed plans require the use of registered providers.

8. What are my rights as an NDIS participant when receiving services? As an NDIS participant, you have the right to be treated with respect, receive quality and safe services, access your service agreement, and have your privacy protected. You also have the right to provide feedback or make complaints without it affecting your services.
